The Suit of Cups
Cups are the suit of Water: feelings, relationships, intuition and imagination. They answer the questions "what do I feel?" and "what does my heart need?". In readings, Cups describe love in all its stages, friendship, creative sensitivity and the inner life beneath events.
The numbered cards follow the course of a river: the Ace overflows with new feeling, Two and Three are union and celebration, Five mourns what spilled, Eight walks away from the shallow, and the Ten arrives at emotional fulfillment shared with others.
In love questions Cups are at home — they name the exact emotional stage. In career they point to team climate, vocation of the heart and creative work. Too many Cups warn of drifting: feelings need banks to flow between.
